The Hauenstein Institute (HI) is dedicated to fostering leaders, innovation, and regenerative societies that can flourish in diverse future scenarios—guided by humanity, wisdom, and a deep commitment to the dignity of all people. Our mission is rooted in the conviction that leadership must evolve to meet the complexities of our time and that institutions can become powerful forces of renewal, rather than perpetuating outdated and increasingly irrelevant societal structures.
We envision a world where people, organizations, and societies develop the wisdom, imagination, and courage to shape futures that respect human dignity, regenerate the living environment, and create shared prosperity. The HI supports leaders and institutions in addressing uncertainty with humanity, driving interdisciplinary innovation, and collaboratively developing diverse pathways to flourishing in an interconnected and rapidly changing world.
The HI is shaped by a team of thinkers, practitioners, and educators who combine global perspectives with local roots. Professor Urs Hauenstein, our founder and conceptual mastermind, provides the intellectual foundation for our regenerative approach to leadership and institutional transformation. Dr. Tony Bradley, our Director of Sustainability and Regeneration Programs, is a strategic leader. Together with a team of experts, researchers, and authors, he forms the editorial team and is responsible for our content. He oversees public communications, educational offerings, and program development for the Hauenstein Institute (HI).
Together with our cluster directors, hub leaders, and our broad network of partners, the HI leadership ensures the consistency of our values, frameworks, and partnerships. We collaborate with organizations, communities, and various sectors to develop and implement inclusive, ethical, and life-affirming visions for the future. In this way, the Hauenstein Institute plays a central role in shaping the potential futures we wish to realize together.
